今回は3月14日に実施された661回例会　TM T.I.の英文レポートです
The No. 661 regular meeting was held at Fujisawa Citizen’s Center, F place on March 14, 2026.
Nine members participated at the meeting and the chairperson TM Y.S. participated by Zoom. The TMOD was TM T.I.

[Word of the Day/Prepared speeches and Evaluations]
※Word of the Dayは「その日の言葉」参加者全員がその日に紹介された新しい言葉を実際に例会の場で使い、言語力を鍛えます。
Prepared Speechではスピーカーは、数週間前からスピーチの準備をし、本番（当日）に臨みます。スピーチ時間は約５～７分。それぞれいろいろな分野のスピーチを集めたPathというオンラインベースのマニュアルを使い、実践でプレゼン能力を鍛えます。すべてのスピーチは後続の論評セッションで感想や気づきを聞くことができます。湘南ではさらにSpeech後はQuestion-and-Answerがあり、聴衆からの質問に答え、対応力を鍛えます

TM T.I.:
The Word of the Day is “Serendipity”, which means the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. 　
Two members did the prepared speech. The title of the first speaker is “Tiny Little Thing” and that of the second speaker is “Meeting Roles for Successful Club.”

[Table Topics Session]
その場で出されるテーマで2分間ほどの即興スピーチをする、とてもドキドキするセッションです。　論理性、説得性だけでなくカンと度胸も身につく世界共通のプログラムで、湘南ではお客様も含めて全員が挑戦します。

Today’s Table Topics master is Hiroko. Spring has come, or not yet? Dou you have any plan to do when spring has come? I’ll visit one of my friends to see her cherry blossoms at her garden.

　4. Look at this picture please! What do you imagine? It has passed 15years since the Great East Japan Earthquake has happened. Your comment please. To Takki
　5. Do you know the delicious or restaurant around here at Chigasaki or Fujisawa? To Takeo
　6. The war between Iran and the US especially Trump, Israel. Trump says this war will soon finish. But Iran says our country decides ending this war. We continues to attack by missile. We’ll not export even 1 ℓ of oil. I’m afraid this war will continue from now on. Your opinion please. To Ichi
　7. About an increase in prices. This spring, the prices of almost everything go up. Today JR fare also went up. Is there any way to save money or accumulate points of super market? To Kaneko

2月23日に茅ヶ崎で実施されたエリアコンテストでは英語テーブルトピックスと国際スピーチでそれぞれMihoさん、Jadeさんが2位受賞されました。　役所前広場の加山雄三像の前で

今回は2月28日に実施された660回例会　Ichiさんの英文レポートです
Feedback on the Meeting

It was a perfect, sunny, and warm spring day. 12 members (2 via remote) and 1 guest attended. The guest told us at the after-meeting mingling that an AI system suggested joining a Toastmasters club when he asked if there is a good way to brush up on his English speaking ability. Regarding the word of the day, TM ST provided the word “overcome.” To begin the meeting, we had difficulty setting up the Zoom function; however, TM MA devised another way to establish the remote communication method. VIVA! TM MA!

Ichi-san:
Because I, as TMOD for this meeting, did not have enough time to draw up a plan for the meeting program, I initially decided not to follow the regular format of including a prepared speech. However, TM MH volunteered to give a speech to polish the one she had performed at the speech contest. For the second prepared speech, TM RK also volunteered to give his first speech, even though this meeting was held right after his induction ceremony. I would just like to commend them for their great challenge.

Ichi-san:
TM MA nicely presided over the Table Topics Session. She threw pretty witty topics at all the audience members, including the guest.
Miho-san: Theme: The last time you experienced…

Movies at theaters – TM Ishii: He likes watching western movies starring John Wayne at home.
Museum – TM Mutsumi: She visited the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum with her daughter near Tokyo Station. She also enjoyed the nostalgic and elegant café inside the museum.
Online Shopping – TM Cassa: He has never used online shopping himself, but his wife often uses it, for example, to book trips to New Zealand with a nice optional tour
Spring – TM Takigawa: He feels the arrival of spring when he walks along the river and smells plum blossoms.
Health Checkup – TM Ichi: His doctor advised him to lose weight, exercise regularly, and not drink too much. However, he does not follow most of this advice.
Italy – TM Eiki: He couldn’t watch the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics because he was practicing his speech for the area contest. He likes the pair skaters Riku and Ryu.
Started and Quit Soon – TM Hiroko: She practiced calligraphy for one year. She displayed one of her works in her room and hopes to restart it someday.
Recommended Food – TM Ryu: He recommended a sushi bar in Ginza. It was reasonably priced and delicious. It cost about 20,000 yen for two people.
Drama – TM Ueda: Aibou, starring Yutaka Mizutani, is one of his favorite dramas. He watches it while drinking alcohol.
Music – TM Jade: She talked about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whom her husband likes.
Animal – Guest Kouki-san: He enjoys petting cats and feeding them at a cat café.

[Award Session]
Ichi-san: TM IS received the Table Topics Award, and TM MA was named the TMOD Award winner. TM IS, TM MA Congratulations!!!

Overall, Meeting #660 went very well. Thank you to all the members who attended!

今回は659回例会のレポートです
本日例会は2名のゲストに参加頂き、新年早々入会のご意思をご表明頂いたRyuさんの入会式を行いました。ご入会おめでとうございます　
また今回は今月23日に茅ヶ崎労働市民会館で実施される英語と日本語のエリアD2スピーチコンテストとテーブルトピックススピーチコンテストの直前例会であり、湘南代表全員が予行練習をしました

もちろんバレンタイン例会でもあり、チョコレートが舞い飛ぶ湘南らしい例会でした^^

[Prepared speeches]
今回の[Prepared speeches]部門では23日に実施される日本語スピーチコンテストと英語スピーチコンテストに備えて湘南代表スピーカのスピーチ練習をした後に全員がフィードバックを提供しました。また湘南はコンテスト英語部門の運営を担当するため、本番さながらのインタビューまでも実施し、競技者には大変参考となる機会でした。またクラブ内では滅多に聞くことのない日本語スピーチを聞くめずらしい機会でした

[Table Topics Session]
今日のTTマスターIchiさんは当日の司会TMODを兼任され、コンテストによく出るテーマを調べて出題頂きました。実際のコンテストでは同じ出題に対して、別室で待機している競技者が次々に会場に案内されて回答します。予行演習では本番さながらの難しい出題テーマを人数分ご用意頂き、日本語・英語テーブルトピックスコンテスト湘南代表は素晴しい回答で会場を湧かせました

本日のWinnerはコンテスト予行練習のため、本日の勝者投票は実施しませんでした。しかし本日のwinnerはきっと、本日入会されたRueさんですね。会長Ichiさん、会員担当副会長Cassaさんとの記念写真です

今年2回目の本日例会は3名のゲストに参加頂き、2回目のご訪問をされたRyuさんにはご入会の意思表示を頂きました。春先から素晴らしいニュース　　湘南では今年もまた楽しい活動が生まれそうです！！！　Ryuさん、Welcome to Shonan!

自分を愛することの大切さ、自分を愛せる人こそが周りの人も幸せにすることができるという発見、しかも自分を幸せにする方法を知っているのは自分だけではないかという指摘 . . . 本当にそうですね　留学されたお嬢様との会話にご自分の体験を重ねて . . . 聴いていて思わず惹き込まれる、人生観察にあふれた優しいスピーチでした

第2 SpeakerはゲストスピーカのMarcさん、スピーチのタイトルは、 “Mr. X”
このプロジェクトはスピーチタイムが特別に長く、通常スピーチの倍あります
国際的な仕事に就かれたMarcさんがはじめての海外オフィスで指導を受けた謎の人物 Mr. X . . .
トーストでは師匠をメンターと呼びますが、メンターそのもののX氏との縁. . .
華やかなエピソードが大ベテランのMarcさんの語りで次々と披露されます
どのような結末につながるか . . .映画を見ているような展開に息もつけないスピーチでした

今日のTTマスターMutsumiさんは高校の教科書から現代的なトピックを次々出題し、「難易度の高いtopic にも皆さん即座に2分前後のshort speechをしてくださいました」という暖かい評価をくださいましたが、この問題 . . . みなさまならどのようなスピーチをされますか^^

🛍️ Topic 1 – Yaku-shima is the 1st natural world heritage in Japan. We must keep its eco-system. What would you do to save our earth, save our eco-system?

✈️ Topic 2 – Have you joined any volunteer work? If you have joined, please tell us your experiences.

💎 Topic 3 – Milano Winter Olympic Games will start soon. What kind of winter sports do you like the most? Or do you have any memory about Winter Olympic Games?

👵 Topic 4 – Do you often go to café? Please tell us some memories about your favorite café.

🌱 Topic 5 – Oxytocin is called “a happiness hormone”. If it is released in the brain, you feel happy and unstressed. What do you do to to make yourself happy?

🌼 Topic 6 – It’s getting colder and colder these days. Do you have any measures to keep you warm and keep your rooms warmer?

🎉 Topic 7 – Facility dogs are the dogs which are trained and worked in some institutions. They help people in the hospitals. Do you have any ideas about such facility dogs?

🧹 Topic 8 – The average cost of Purchasing a condominium around Tokyo is over 100million yen! If you have over 100 million yen, will you buy a condominium or a house? Tell us your idea.
