STMC Discussion Session
TM E. Mizuno led the session and eleven members attended it.
As toastmasters, we'd like to have skills to be able to speak English continuously, significantly and impressively without preparation. So, he led an English "Shiritori" game to practice speaking.
The game went this way. First speaker made a free speach for one minute and the next speaker had to start his/her one-minute speech with the word the former speaker uttered last, except articles, prepositions or pronouns. The participants all enjoyed this useful and fun game session.

STMC Discussion Session
Led by the day's discussion leader TM Fukushima, we played a practice game on how to give proper advice to a friend of yours when he/she has been at a loss which to take out of the two incomparably attractive items. Participants were classified into Team A&B(=advisers) and judges(=advisees). We played 6 rounds. In every round, two items furnished with specified situations were compared and arguments were made between Team A and B (such as which to take, CITY LIFE or COUNTRY LIFE, after retirement). Each Team gave its own advice to Judges, verifying its advocated item (Team A supports CITY LIFE, for exampls) was superior to the other. Individual Judges voted for their favorite Team, after listening to each advice. Which team got a higher score in total?

STMC Discussion Session
On the day, about ten members attended the Discussion Session. TM Sekine, as the session leader, conducted two activities. The first was "Facial ExpressionTraining." The participants put a mirror in front of each and tried to make a variety of facial expressions according to her guide. Facial expressions might have been funny but they could learn the tips to be eloquent speakers.
The second part was "Word Game." It was an activity in which the participants were requested to add adjectives to complete given sentences. They all fully enjoyed the session.

STMC Discussion Session

TM Naruke, as the Discussion Leader, facilitated our active interaction as follows:
First of all, we had a pair work. We introduced each other for about 15 minutes. While we were doing that, we had to take notes on the information we got from the partners. (This was interpersonal communication) After that, each participant introduced his or her partner to everybody for about 3 minutes. (This was Public Speaking) While we were listening to the introduction of one person, we asked some questions. And the person who was introduced answered the questions. This way we enjoyed some interactions among the participants. As a result we could get to know each other much better.
