Regular Meeting October 26, 2019

Our Regular Meeting #515 was held on October 26, at F-Place. It was nice to have the meeting to see all, as the immediate past Meeting #514 scheduled on October 14, 2019 was cancelled due to Typhoon Hagibis, one of the worst storms in years.

The Word of the Day “in person” was presented by TM E. M. “Do something in person” means to do it by oneself not by sending a letter or asking someone else to do it.

TM E. M. introduced his bathing habit referring to hot springs, public baths and healthy way of bathing humorously to make the audience relaxed.

The first speaker was TM T. K. who gave his “Self Introduction” for the project L1-1 Ice Breaker of the Persuasive Influence course. He introduced his hobby, family, career and so on. He gave the speech almost without note.

The second speaker was TM T. Uchimura who introduced the tips “To Succeed as a Protégé” based on his experience. In his young days, he wisely accepted a senior’s advice and, accordingly, made a great progress in one particular task. The speech was for the project L2-3 “Introduction to Toastmasters Mentoring” of the Persuasive Influence course.

Table Topics Master TM Y. U. presented 5 topics related to typhoon, sports, birthday and so on. The audience stood up as speakers regardless of their roles today.
Two Evaluators TM M. H. and TM T. O. gave sincere and thoughtful evaluation to TM T. K.’s and TM T. U.’s speeches, respectively.

The Grammarian proposed to welcome comments from other audience in order that we may have more active discussion on grammatical matters. Although there was not much today, this practice may be implemented as routine from now on.

TMOD Award : TM Y. U. for preparing 8 topics for Table Topics Session
Best Table Topics Speaker : TM K. K.
Best Prepared Speaker and Best Evaluator were not chosen because we had only two each of speakers and evaluators.
