No.458 regular meeting was held on Saturday, February 11 at Fujisawa Meiten Bdg・C Hall. President Chen called No.458 meeting to order. The day was “In-house International Speech Contest” and we welcomed 2 guests. One was her first visit and Ms.J.Y. had held Declaration & Induction Ceremony today.

Then President Chen introduced TM E.M. as “Contest Chair” to start the contest program and he introduced his Opening Address, Introduction of contest officials(Contest Chair, Chief Judge, Timers, Tally Counters, Interviewer, Sergeant at arms) and Explanation of the Contest Rule.

Chief Judge, TM Y.T. reported Judging Verification.
We moved to Speech Contest and we had five speakers.
They delivered their speech successfully.

After intermission, Contest Certificate Presentation was held by Contest Chair.

Contest Interview was held by TM A. S. The interview was very interesting and all contestants responded enjoyably.

After deliberate vote-counting by the Chief Judge and the Tally Counters, the winners of the Contest have just been decided. But It was regrettable one Contestant was disqualified due to overtime.

Three Contestants were awarded by President Liang Chen
The first place was TM Y. W.
The second place was TM N.N.
The third place was TM A. M.

The first place winner TM Y. W. and second winner TM N. N. will represent Shonan Toastmasters Club at the Area 57 International Speech Contest to be held on March 5 at Chigasaki Kinro Shimin Kaikan in Chigasaki City.

The third place winner TM A. M. is the alternate.
