今回657回は2026年の初例会 TMOD（例会司会者）は会長のIchiさんです。
会場とウェブサイトから11名が参加し、楽しく盛り上げました。
As the first meeting of 2026, we had a solid session with 11 members in attendance. “Decent,” meaning good or reasonable, was selected by Cassa-san as the word of the day.
We also welcomed a guest who said he enjoyed the meeting very much, and I felt he had a positive impression and interest in joining the club.
The meeting was well organized, featuring two prepared speeches, two evaluations, and a Table Topics session.

※スピーカーは、数週間前からスピーチの準備をし、本番（当日）に臨みます。スピーチ時間は約５～７分。それぞれいろいろな分野のスピーチを集めたPathというオンラインベースのマニュアルを使い、実践でプレゼン能力を鍛えます。湘南ではSpeech後 はQuestion-and-Answerがあり、聴衆からの質問に答え、対応力を鍛えます。
For the first speech, Yassy-san delivered an excellent presentation about the recent bear-related issues occurring in Japan. The theme focused on whether culling bears is socially acceptable, giving us an opportunity to reflect on how humans and the increasing bear population can coexist.
Next, Eiki-san gave an interesting speech based on his extensive career in road construction. We learned how tunnels are dug to create roads through mountains. He opened his speech with the famous theme music from the TV program Project X, which matched the title and tone of his speech very well.
After that, Mutsumi-san evaluated Yassy-san’s speech and offered a thoughtful recommendation for improvement, which is an essential part of Toastmasters evaluations. Following her, Cassa-san provided a well-balanced evaluation with reasonable suggestions for improvement, drawing on his experience as a veteran Toastmaster.

その場で出されるテーマで2分間ほどの即興スピーチ（Table Topics Speech）をする、とてもドキドキするセッションです。 論理性、説得性だけでなくカンと度胸も身につく世界共通のプログラムで、湘南ではお客様も含めて全員が挑戦します。
今日のTTマスターはJadeさん 2月から4月にかけて実施されるエリア、ディビジョン、全国コンテストでは、スピーチのほかにテーブルトピックスのコンテストも英語・日本語で実施されるため、今回は全員がコンテストに向いた出題に取り組みました。このような話題が出たら みなさまはどのように回答されますか。
- 「最近考えさせられた一言」★ A recent comment or phrase that made you think
- あなたにとっての「小さな成功」★ What a “small success” means to you
- もし今、時間を1時間だけ自由に使えるなら ★ If you had one free hour right now
- 忘れられない「初めての経験」★ A first experience you will never forget
- あなたが大切にしている習慣 ★ A habit that matters to you
- 最近変わったと感じること（自分・社会・周囲）★ Something you’ve noticed changing recently
- 「待つこと」から学んだこと ★ What waiting has taught you
- あなたの人生を少し楽にしてくれた工夫 ★ Something that has made your life a little easier
- 子どもの頃の自分に伝えたいこと ★ What you would tell your younger self
- あなたにとっての「挑戦」とは ★ What “challenge” means to you
- 感謝を伝えたい人・もの・出来事 ★ Someone or something you feel grateful for
- もし一つだけ何かを手放すとしたら ★ If you had to let go of one thing
- あなたを元気にしてくれるもの ★ Something that lifts your spirits
- 失敗から得た意外な気づき ★ An unexpected lesson from a mistake
- 「今」という時間の価値について ★ The value of “now”
本日のBest Table Topics Speeker賞を受賞されたのはCassaさん。 9番目のトピック「子どもの頃の自分に伝えたいこと」にとり組まれ、「そんなに気にすることないよ」と教職のCassaさんらしい暖かい内容のスピーチをされました。
また本日一番例会で貢献された会員にTMODから贈るTMOD賞は、本日はじめて総合論評にとり組まれたTakkiさん。 入会歴は短くても、社会経験の長さが生きますね。
