The Joint Meeting with Den-entoshi TMC (DTTMC) was held on November 10, 2018 at Takatsu-Shimin-Kaikan meeting room No 6 in Takatsu ward, Kawasaki city.                                        
This was the first time in 8 years since the previous Joint Meeting with DTTMC had been held at Fujisawa Civic Hall on December 11^th, 2010.
DTTMC was established in 1993, two years before Shonan Toastmasters Club (STMC).
So, the meeting number was # 653 for DTTMC and # 495 for STMC.
The number of the participants was 15 from DTTMC, 9 from STMC, 1 from other TMC and 2 visitors (guests), thus making 27 in total.

The meeting program was impremented based on DTTMC style, which was a little different from STMC.
The first difference was that Today’s Meeting Theme was given.
It was “Hiking”.

The meeting started with the calling to order and the welcoming speech by DTTMC President H. A.
Next, STMC President T. O. expressed his thanks and explained the process of the Joint Meeting’s being held.
              
Then the Word of the Day “Exuberant” was introduced by Grammarian Y. F.

TMOD Y. M., taking over the role from the president, introduced his staff, Timer M. M. Assistant Timer H. S. Ah/Uh Counter K. O. Video Shooter K. K. and Vote Counter S. I.

Before moving to Joke Session, TMOD explained that he asked Joke Master, Table Topics Master, 4 Prepared Speakers and General Evaluator, a question about the Meeting Theme “Hiking”.
“Could you tell us about your experience of hiking? And if possible, could you suggest your favorite spots to go?”

Joke Master S. I. delivered an interesting story from his experience. He has ever eaten brain of pork pig and it was unbelievably delicious but also, having eaten too much, he became sick next day.

The next session was Table Topics Session, although it is usually after Prepared Speech Session at the Regular Meeting of STMC.
The Table Topics Master T. O. gave 5 questions about autumn season such as sports day, colored leaves, reading, appetite, and art.
Five speakers answered each question interestingly.
                     

Prepared Speech Session
The first Prepared Speaker A. M. from STMC delivered his speech based on the project L1-1“Ice Breaker” of Pathways.
The speech was titled “Looking for new challenges”.
He introduced his four family members and his new challenges.
  The second Prepared Speaker L. C. from STMC delivered a speech based on the Project L1-3 “Researching and Presenting”.
The speech was titled “Hiking, my favorite”.
He introduced his favorite spots for hiking, showing photos on the screen skillfully.

The third Prepared Speaker H. H. from DTTMC delivered his speech based on the Project L1-2 “Evaluation and Feedback”.
The speech was titled “Lunch Time Paradise”.
He introduced 5 lunch menus served by restaurants nearby his working place in Ginza, Tokyo, showing them on the screen one by one.
Our appetite was greatly stimulated by the photos of the lunches of his recommendation.
 
The fourth Prepared Speaker K. I. from DTTMC delivered his speech based on the Project 3 “The Persuasive Approach” of Advanced Manual “Public Relations”.
The speech was titled “Don’t sleep through life”. He recommended senior people to listen to and take lessons of the university broadcast on TV（放送大学）.

Evaluation Session
General Evaluator A. I., the oldest member of DTTMC presided at the Evaluation Session in an experienced manner.
And 4 evaluators gave motivational suggestions to each of 4 Prepared Speakers.
                                      
Awards were given to:
    Best Table Topics Speaker:        H. D.
    Best Evaluator:                            M. H. and N. N.
    Best Prepared Speaker:              L. C. and K. I.  
                                

The Joint Meeting adjourned.

After the Joint Meeting, 6 members of DTTMC and 5 members of STMC had an after-meeting party. All the members enjoyed chatting with one another.

Our No.494 regular meeting was held on Oct. 27 at Mina Park, Fujisawa.

Before it, Discussion Session was carried out, which was hosted by TM H. S.　 She prepared a lot of pictures; each attendee was asked to select two pictures and make stories based on them. It was a pleasant time. Thanks to TM H. S.!
                 

Fourteen members attended the regular meeting, and TMOD was TM L. C. He looked a little bit nervous at the beginning. Fortunately, Joke master, TM M. I., helped him to make a good opening. At the beginning of the meeting, Joke Session was mastered by her, and she told an anecdote about her trip in Russia. Could you believe that she was presented a gift worth more than 10 million yen from a stranger? It sounded a joke, but she said it had happened. Amazing!
                                                                                              
At the following Prepared Speech Session, four speakers delivered their wonderful speeches. The first speaker was TM H. S. and her speech title was “The way to visit Shinto Shrine”. Her body language was so effective that it attracted audience’s interest. TM Y. H. made the second speech titled “Recommendation Negligence”. She prepared several pictures that were appropriate for her messages and audience.
         
The third speaker was our new member, TM T. O., he made an ice breaker speech titled “My hometown”. Although this was his first speech in our club, he looked very confident. TM A. T. was the last speaker whose speech title was “My Ambition”. His English was perfect, and his vocal variety was wonderful. Finally, TM A. T. won the best prepared speaker award.
                                                 
The Table Topics Session was hosted by TM A.M. He asked five members to make impromptu speeches to his five questions related to season, society, language and personality, each answer was very interesting. TM M. I. won the best table topics speaker award.

The last session was  Evaluation, which was hosted by TM K. T., general evaluator.
Four evaluators evaluated each prepared speaker’s speech and gave them appropriate suggestions respectively. TM N. N. won the best evaluator award.
