The Joint MTG with Kamakura TMC was held on May 13, at Mina Park in Fujisawa. Totally 47 people joined this MTG from both clubs.  This MTG was No.334 for Kamakura and No.464 for our club.  As we all know, some of our members such as the late TM Okamoto, TM A.T. and TM K.M. are the charter members of Kamakura TMC.  Therefore, Kamakura TMC is our sister club.  We were very happy to have this joint MTG with our sister club.

President L. C. called the MTG to order.  After that President of Kamakura TMC, TM I. K. gave us some greeting words. Then we sang “Toastmasters’ Song” together. 

The word of the day “Happy” was so simple that a lot of members could use this word. 

TM A. S. played the role of Joke Master and told us some funny jokes very skillfully.We had four prepared speakers; two speakers from each club.

The first speaker was TM K.M. a young lady from Kamakura. Her speech title was “A New Tip for Talking with a Person from Abroad.”  She communicated her message very clearly to the audience.

The second speaker was TM A.U. a young speaker from Shonan.  This was his 3rd speech and the title was “Making New Habits.”   He stood up in front of the lectern and delivered his speech without using any notes.  He did a great job. 

The third speaker was from Kamakura.  TM M.T. is an experienced speaker and her speech title was “Isn’t that a cat?”  Again this speaker didn’t use any notes and she could connect with the audience very well.  She is an excellent communicator.

The last speaker was TM Y.T. from Shonan.  Her speech title was “Omake.”  Since her project was “Get Comfortable with Visual Aids,” she prepared some visual aids and used them very effectively.  Her manner of speaking was so charming and we all enjoyed her speech.

Table Topics Master was TM R.S. from Kamakura.  He was a dynamic speaker and he asked us very interesting questions.  Six people tried to answer the questions.

After the break, we had Evaluation Session.  TM S.Y. from Kamakura played the role of General Evaluator and introduced each evaluator.  We had two evaluators from each club.  The evaluators from Kamakura evaluated the speeches by the members of Shonan and viceversa.

 

TMOD awards were given to TM Y.N. of Kamakura and TM T.O. of Shonan.  They made a lot of efforts to make this Joint MTG possible.  In addition, they became evaluators because two people suddenly had cancelled the roles.  Indeed TM Y.N. and TM T.O. deserve the awards.

The Best Table Topics Speaker was TM Y.W.  The Best Evaluator was TM K.T.  And the Best Prepared Speaker was TM Y.T.  Surprisingly all three prize winners were from Shonan.

At the end of this Joint MTG, our God mother DTM K.O. made some comments on the MTG.

After adjournment, we had a party and we fully enjoyed ourselves.  We could get to know each other well.  TM H.M. was the master of ceremony and as always he did a great job.  He is a real Toastmaster.  According to the record, we had this sort of Joint MTG with Kamakura TMC eight years ago.  I felt two clubs’ connection is very strong, after all, we are indeed sister clubs.  Therefore, we should have another Joint MTG with Kamakura TMC in the near future.  We should visit Kamakura next time.

Last but never the least, we must thank the organizers who made this event a reality.
