The annual summer event was held on August 27, 2016 in Fujisawa. 12 members attended it. Unlike previous years, we didn’t have overnight stay. The summer event included three sessions, enjoying Ukiyo-e prints in Fujisawa Ukiyo-e Museum, Learning and practicing how to make Table Topics speech, drinking party.

Firstly, we gathered in Fujisawa Ukiyo-e Museum and took about one hour to enjoy Ukiyo-e prints. Many of them illustrate people’s life and state of the period related to Fujisawa. How exquisite they are!

Secondly, we learned the points to make successful Table Topics speech through watching a workshop video, in which TM Kawaguchi, champion of Table Topics speech contest held in 2012 Autumn Conference, served as an instructor. And then we practiced it. This session was hosted by VPE. He prepared two questions related to Ukiyo-e.

Lastly, we enjoyed drinking, eating and talking in an Izakaya near Tsujido station. Every attendees said that this summer event held in the near place, or staycation, was very successful and enjoyable.
